Life on Campus
Housing
Our five residence halls aren’t just places to sleep—they’re home base for lifelong friendships and a shared Rutgers journey. With options for living-learning communities and recovery housing, our focus is on community. Resident Advisors are here to help you from the moment you arrive on campus.
Dining
Whether your tastes run to gourmet or grab-and-go, seven different campus venues will satisfy your appetite. Flexible meal plans and mobile apps work with your schedule. On staff, a registered dietician partners with the Rutgers culinary team to provide you with options, resources and recipes.
Student Activities
More than 100 student organizations—cultural, religious, Greek, graduate and more—spark new connections and leadership opportunities on campus. For new students, we offer a host of in-depth programs to welcome you to campus, help you make connections and dive into the Rutgers community.
Health and Wellness
Find support and tools for well-being in safe spaces across campus, including the health and counseling center and pantryRUN, where students and staff who have trouble affording a healthy diet can get free groceries. Also on campus: dedicated support for students with disabilities, and advocacy for the prevention of violence in all its forms.
Campus Facilities
From the Paul Robeson Campus Center to the state’s largest law library, you’ll find everything you need to thrive—both personally and academically—at Rutgers-Newark. Also on campus: computer and science labs, smart classrooms, moot courtrooms, five residence halls, athletic facilities and much more.
