Rutgers School of Law–Newark and Guanghua Law School of Zhejiang University, China, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work toward fostering collaborative efforts, including opportunities for faculty and student exchanges.

Guanghua Law School’s Xinli Zhu, Executive Dean, and Professor Zhao Jun spent September 30th at Rutgers, where they met with law school leadership, faculty and students and attended classes. Rutgers–Newark Law was the first stop on their 10-day tour of U.S. law schools.

The visit was arranged by Professor Stuart Deutsch, Director of Global/International Programs and Acting Senior Associate Dean at Rutgers–Newark Law School. In recent weeks the law school has hosted representatives from Kutafin Moscow State Law University, with which it signed an MOU, and senior police officers from South Korea interested in the U.S. legal system and the training of lawyers.

This month the law school also will host a group of Vietnamese prosecutors who are visiting law schools, criminal justice offices and courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and several judges from Taiwan.
