What Was It Like Growing Up In Cuba As Fidel Castro’s Daughter? Hear Her First-Hand Account

Alina Fernandez Will Speak at Rutgers University, Newark, on Oct. 7

WHO:  Alina Fernandez, daughter of the long-time Cuban leader and revolutionary. She told the story of her life in Castro’s Daughter: An Exile’s Memoir of Cuba (St. Martin’s Press, 1988). (Biography attached.) The program is sponsored by the Rutgers-Newark Paul Robeson Campus Center Office of Student Life and Leadership.

WHAT:  Fernandez will talk about growing up in Cuba as the daughter of Fidel Castro, then answer audience questions. The program is open to the public and free of charge but seating is limited. RSVP REQUIRED: osllnwk@andromeda.rutgers.edu

BACKGROUND:  Fernandez was forced to flee Cuba, in disguise, in 1993.  Today she is a resident of the U.S. who gives public talks about her country and her famous father.
