Summer Session

The Office of Summer & Winter Sessions provides academic opportunities at RU-Newark in the Summer and Winter Sessions. During the Summer, over 300 online, in-person, or hybrid courses are offered in two 6-week sessions. Some courses are also available in 12-week formats.

With an accelerated meeting schedule, the Summer Session offers students the opportunity to take advantage of smaller class sizes, a convenient location, and flexible course schedules. The summer is the ideal time for students to accelerate time to graduation, improve their GPA, explore a subject of interest, or reduce next semester’s coursework.

Summer courses are open to all learners.  For more information visit Summer Session:

Winter Session

The Office of Summer & Winter Sessions provides academic opportunities at RU-Newark in the Summer and Winter Session. During the Winter, over 50 online, in-person, or hybrid courses are offered.

With an accelerated meeting schedule, the Winter Session offers students the opportunity to take advantage of smaller class sizes, a convenient location, and flexible course schedules. Attending a winter course offers students the ideal opportunity to accelerate time to graduation, improve their GPA, explore a subject of interest, or reduce next semester’s coursework. The winter allows students to focus on a single subject matter, empowering students to master the material, a feat impossible during the academic year.

Courses are open to current students and visiting students. Current Rutgers students may register via WebReg. Visiting students from another institution, past Rutgers students, or adults interested in personal enrichment, professional development, or degree completion opportunities can submit a Visiting Student Registration Form to create a student record and receive registration instructions. High school students are not permitted to register for Winter Session courses and are encouraged to visit our summer session website to find out more information about our Summer Edge program.

The Office of Summer & Winter Sessions is located in Blumenthal Hall – Room 208. Please email, call, follow us on social media, or reach out to our office with any winter-related questions.
