Martin Luther King Day of Service
Organized around Martin Luther King Day, we honor his legacy by turning out for community service projects. This year we removed 56 bags of trash from the streets of Newark.
Civic Engagement through the Ballot Bowl
Rutgers-Newark has a history of winning this student-driven effort to register voters and to heighten voter awareness and participation. In competing with other New Jersey schools, registered the most voters on our campus and hope to win again in the upcoming election season.
Explore global enrichment opportunities
An essential part of exploring the world beyond our campus is, for many, the chance to take advantage of global learning experiences. Rutgers University-Newark’s Office of Global Initiatives and Experiential Learning offers programs for travel, study, field work and internships around themes such as sustainability, community engagement, leadership, and more.
