Why transfer to Rutgers-Newark?

Choosing to enroll at Rutgers-Newark is partly due to the course of study you choose, but there’s more to it than that. When we ask students what they value most about learning here, they always mention these three things:

  1. Diversity is real at Rutgers University-Newark. It isn’t a box to check, but is an integral part of the enriching adventure of life on our campus. You will meet a multiplicity of people from a wide cross-section of places and cultures, both among faculty and fellow students.
  2. Community is at the heart of the Rutgers University-Newark spirit. Though our campus is at the center of a large city and comprises a diverse population of faculty and students, you’ll never get lost in the crowd here.
  3. Newark isn’t just the city that hosts our campus; it is intrinsic to your education and the value of choosing to study here. There aren’t walls between the university and the city. In fact, ideas, opportunities, and engagement flow between the colleges, classes and programs and the government, institutions, businesses, and initiatives across the metropolitan area.
