Video: A Look at RU-N’s Innovative Honors Program
The Honors Living-Learning Community (HLLC) at Rutgers-Newark includes students from 18 to 60, with 50 percent from RU-N's home community of Greater Newark. The rest are from various states across the U.S. and six continents.
Our students are veterans, parents, starting a second career, and first-generation. From all backgrounds, they are living, learning, and innovating together.
Many of Rutgers University Honors Living-Learning Community students have experienced the nation’s greatest challenges and inequities first-hand. They have achieved academic excellence but also demonstrated a commitment to creating a more just and equitable society.
The HLLC is recognized as a national model, a pioneering approach to honors education that benefits local communities while cultivating change-making leaders.
