The Queer Newark Oral History Project (QNOHP) records interviews with LGBTQ Newarkers about their lives, makes their stories accessible to academic and community-based researchers, students, and artists; sponsors innovative programming that bridges the community and campus, spreads awareness of oral history methods, and commemorates the community's elders.Â

The Rutgers Center for Gender, Sexuality, Law and Policy (CGSLP) examines questions of social inequality from multi-disciplinary and intersectional standpoints, attending to inequality based on gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, economic status, and a range of social factors domestically and transnationally.

RICAP strives to foster a safe environment on campus and to remove barriers to student success by providing immigration legal services. RICAP is available to provide informational “Immigration” and “Know Your Rights” presentations on every Rutgers campus.

The Citizens Campaign is designed to train students and members of the community in no-blame, pragmatic problem-solving skills and provide opportunities for them to put their training to use as “citizen leaders” working to better their communities and our country.

The New Jersey Scholarship and Transformative Education in Prisons (NJ-STEP) initiative is an association of higher education institutions in New Jersey that works in partnership with the State of New Jersey Department of Corrections and New Jersey State Parole Board, (a) to provide higher education courses toward a college degree for students while they are incarcerated, and (b) to assist in their transition to college life upon release from prison.
